Springfield Land Corporation has welcomed the announcement by Federal Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann and Federal Member for Oxley, Bernie Ripoll today that construction of the National Broadband Network (NBN) is forecast to commence between April and July 2013 to approximately 10,000 premises in Greater Springfield.
Springfield Land Corporation’s Maha Sinnathamby said the city’s NBN roll-out had been delayed last year but NBN(?) found a solution by leasing space in the secure Polaris data centre at Springfield Central.
“We are very excited to welcome the NBN to Greater Springfield, our unique city prides itself on being a leader in technology and innovation,” Maha Sinnathamby said.
“The NBN will be available to more than 10,000 homes and businesses throughout the suburbs of Brookwater, Camira, Spring Mountain, Springfield, Springfield Central, Springfield Lakes and Augustine Heights.
“I am delighted that the areas of Brookwater, Camira, Spring Mountain, Springfield, Springfield Central, Springfield Lakes and Augustine Heights are at the forefront of the construction of the NBN, and that local residents will soon have access to faster, affordable and more reliable broadband,” said Federal Member for Oxley, Bernie Ripoll.
“From seeing your local doctor from home, to your kids being able to take a specialist class at another school – the NBN will change the way we live, work, and access services,” said Federal Member for Blai, Shayne Neumann said.
“It will lead to a new wave of innovation, and I’m very pleased that people in Springfield and Springfield Lakes will be among the first to benefit.
“Construction is due to start in April so it won’t be long before Greater Springfield, located in Australia’s 4th fastest growing region, has access to super-fast, reliable broadband” Maha Sinnathamby said.
“The NBN will enhance Greater Springfield’s long-standing focus on education and health, as well as reducing costs for businesses in the city and cater for the burgeoning student numbers already being experienced in Greater Springfield”, Maha Sinnathamby said.
“Greater Springfield’s flourishing schools and university will be able to have more immersive online learning and telehealth consultations will give residents better access to medical specialists.
“Even working from home will be easier and more efficient in Greater Springfield.” |
